We are not just talking about the awful restrictions on a woman’s right to choose what to do with her own body. We are talking about financial oppression. We are talking about the systemic kind of oppression that keeps women of color where a lot of people like them: poor and out of options.

Well, I had so many thoughts, but first and foremost, extreme disappointment and confusion at just how useless and futile and ineffective a strategy that is. It’s not only incredibly ineffective, as she knows, it’s cruel, and that’s such a disappointment because — because Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden promised compassion. They promised humanity. They promised that we were going to bring humanity back into our country’s governance and including in our immigration policy.

We show up, we have helped build this country, we are the essential workers, caring for Americans in hospitals, picking foods on the fields, fighting for freedom here and abroad, we deserve respect, we deserved dignity and we deserve to live in a country that values us.

We are seeing the rise of hate. We are seeing the rise of a lack of safety for our children, for our community. That is the impact that this president has had on our lives.

What am I thinking about here? A. How to get out the vote B. How to get out the vote but smiling C. How to get out the vote on @latenightseth tonight while also talking about @she_sepuede and @nbcsuperstore and wearing all the pink!

I always listen when @kamalaharris talks. This was DNC 2016. Glad to have this smart as hell, insanely competent leader on the 2020 ticket. Let’s go. #bidenharris2020

It’s devastating and shocking and embarrassing and shameful. […] All of these issues have been there under the surface and they’re boiling up and it’s really hard to face and look at. But in order to solve the problem we have to be aware that the problem is there. I think we’re at a point where people are having to reckon with the reality of where we are at.

Honestly, this election isn’t even about, for me, if it’s red or blue. I’m a Democrat. I’m a registered Democrat. But there are plenty of Democrats who need to go, you know? And I’m excited to see some fresh blood in the Democratic party, and I want to see good, decent people running as Republicans. I don’t think this needs to be a country where one party rules. I think we need a democracy that works, because we are doing everything in our power to make it work, to give people access to democracy, not box them out so that it’s easier to stay in a position of power.
