Jennifer Aniston

The Religion and Political Views of Jennifer Aniston

Summary

Religion

Does she have a religion? She says no, and that’s probably true since the last report of her entering a church was for her Godfather Telly Savalas’s funeral in 1993.

Political Views

Too conservative to engage in Bush bashing, too liberal for the likes of Bill O’Reilly.

Wiki

Jennifer Aniston was born in Los Angeles but grew up between Greece and New York City. She is as American a mix as they come: Greek, Italian, Scottish, Irish, and some more Greek. Telly Savalas was her godfather, so we can assume she had some kind of Greek Orthodox training in her childhood. She has said:

I don't have a religion. I believe in a God. I don't know what it looks like but it's MY God.  My own interpretation of the supernatural.[1]

Left, Right, or Confused?

Jennifer Aniston was accused of being too conservative for Brad Pitt[2] during the 2004 election cycle, when he was a John Kerry supporter and she was largely absent from Pitt's side. Some say that was a part of what broke them up the next year.

However, she shows liberal leanings with ads like "Don't Vote" from the 2008 election cycle[3] and her ability to piss-off Bill O'Reilly.[4] Bill O'Reilly thinks she's "destructive to our society" because of comments like these:

…what is it that defines family? It isn't necessarily the traditional mother, father, two children and a dog named Spot.  Love is love and family is what is around you and who is in your immediate sphere.[5]

She was talking about her movie "The Switch" in which she played a single woman who uses artificial insemination to start her own family. No wonder O'Reilly was angry. Who is a grown woman to decide what to do with her body? But don't worry, Bill. If "Friends" couldn't bring about the downfall of western civilization, Jennifer Aniston's far less popular movies won't stand a chance.
