Kevin Bacon was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bacon doesn't believe in God. He flat out said during an interview with the Times of London:

Furthermore, Bacon has dedicated much time and energy to promoting the cause of the separation of church and state. He once said:

The vehicle for many of Bacon's attempts to promote this cause is his band, The Bacon Brothers, which will play events in support of the division of church and state, such as a 2008 festival in Washington D.C. put on by Interfaith Alliance and Americans United for Separation of Church and State.<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2Fwp-dyn%2Fcontent%2Farticle%2F2008%2F03%2F25%2FAR2008032503852.html" title="The Reliable Source">[4]</a> Plus, they write lyrics like:

Bacon married a Jewish woman, actress Kyra Sedgwick. But is he anti-religion? He says no,<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fstory%2F0%2C2933%2C343589%2C00.html%23" title="The Bacon Brothers Go &apos;On The Record.&apos;">[7]</a> but his activism indicates that he'd like to see multiple degrees of separation between government and religion. ## Heavy hitter for the left

Bacon is a liberal Democrat. Allow me to support my argument.

In 2007, Kevin Bacon hit the campaign trail for Democratic presidential nominee John Edwards<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2Fthecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com%2F2007%2F12%2F14%2Fkevin-bacon-hits-iowa%2F" title="Kevin Bacon Has Landed">[8]</a> and contributed thousands of dollars to his campaign.<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2F68.234.14.2%2Fcelebrity_political_donations%2FKevin_Bacon.php" title="Kevin Bacon&apos;s Federal Campaign Contribution Report">[9]</a> But history happened and Obama got the nomination. Bacon then threw a couple grand his way.<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2F68.234.14.2%2Fcelebrity_political_donations%2FKevin_Bacon.php" title="Kevin Bacon&apos;s Federal Campaign Contribution Report">[10]</a>

He didn't quit when times got tough, either. In 2012, when Obama was struggling to maintain the presidency, Bacon went to bat for him with an official endorsement, saying:

But where Bacon really shines is in regards to liberal social issues. He's pro-gay marriage and he and wife, Sedgwick, made a public service announcement in favor of the institution in 2010. Sedgwick did most of the talking, but Bacon added:

Two years later, as Republicans and conservatives were trying to rally the base around women's reproductive issues, Bacon and company did another [PSA](http://www.drawtheline.org/watch-stuff/) blasting conservative lawmakers on behalf of an organization called the Center for Reproductive Rights, the mission of which is the "advancement and protection of reproductive rights as fundamental human rights in constitutional and international law."<a class="source-citation" href="#http%3A%2F%2Fwww.drawtheline.org%2Flearn-more%2F" title="Learn More – Bill of Reproductive Rights">[13]</a>

In the end, Bacon is quite unashamed of his views on anything. But hey, if your place in history is secure, why not just let it all hang out?
