Gun Control

I believe that responsible, law-abiding Americans have a Second Amendment right, enshrined by our founders, to bear arms. I also believe we have a cultural obligation to take steps toward slowing down the senseless killing of our children. The debate about gun control has delivered nothing but status quo. It’s time we talk about gun responsibility.

My heart is shattered. I’m lost for words. My prayers are with the victims of Robb Elementary and their families. Our sympathies and condolences are just not enough. We have to take action. We need change. Enough is enough. We will keep our prayers coming even if it’s not enough to heal the loss.

As you all are aware there was another mass shooting today, this time in my hometown of Uvalde, Texas. Once again we have tragically proven that we are failing to be responsible for the rights our freedoms grant us. The true call to action now is for American to take a longer and deeper look in the mirror, and ask ourselves, “What is that we truly value? How do we repair the problem? What small sacrifices can we individually take today, to preserve a healthier and safer nation, state ,and neighborhood tomorrow?”

I’m so heartbroken that this is the reality that we’re living in […] We need stricter gun control laws in America.

It’s so frustrating and I’m not sure what to say anymore. Those in power need to stop giving lip service and actually change the laws to prevent these shootings in the future.

there is a mass shooting every week that our government does nothing to stop. me sliding down a cgi pole isn’t what’s destroying society.

I have so many friends in the military and the vast majority of them think that AR’s and guns of the sort have no place in society. You know cause they are ........weapons of war. Common Sense #GunReformNow

Yesterday’s shootings are another tragic reminder that we have far more work to do to put in place commonsense gun safety laws and root out the pervasive patterns of hatred and violence in our society.

For anyone that might need to let out a little aggression today… it is national register to VOTE day. I never do this but for anyone who has not registered to vote please take this opportunity to feel HEARD. And not hopeless. I am voting because I WANT to believe in our country. Because I believe in climate change. I believe in systemic racism. I believe in freedom of speech and the right to assemble. I believe in gun control. I believe that women have a right to make choices about their own bodies. I believe people have the right to live and love and identify however they feel in their hearts without fear. I believe that people care about each other. So try and have a lovely Tuesday and vote for your f*****g lives.

Any member of congress who is not actively in the fight for gun safety reform, is not fit to represent us. Period. The inaction is reprehensible. 2 mass shootings in 24 hours? We simply can’t stand by and let this continue to happen. #VoteThemOut #gunreformnow

The horrific response from a lot of people I guess in the pocket of the NRA or even just conservatives, generally, who are so, so protective over this idea of what the Second Amendment is that they are willing to sacrifice children at the altar of their freedom to buy a submachine gun. I think the most important thing to do is to acknowledge the the set of circumstances that calls for these new laws to be to be implemented. I have a maybe a unique way of viewing firearm and the laws of firearms orders. Well, I think that if you ban firearms or ban any kind of firearms, you leave it in the hands of the criminals. Only the people who are willing to break the law to keep them will have them. The law-abiding citizens who have their Second Amendment right, which I don’t, would then be I guess vulnerable.
